Going to Japan

This week I am travelling to Japan.

I can almost see the jealousy in your eyes from through these words as you read the sentence.

But let me enlighten you! I spend most of my time in Japan in offices and rooms that honestly could be anywhere in the world. When I’m not in those rooms, I cram my huge gaijin body into a crammed train. I work 14 hour days to try and get all of my to-do list done. This trip is to handle some important work-related items. But more relevant to you all, it’s to continue the planning for World Riichi Championship and to continue to build the relationships to ensure the event is a success. I’ll try and get some mahjong in where possible and definitely eat delicious food, but my role is unfortunately for me not the fun role. Mine is the nuts and bolts and agreements and negotiations – the boring stuff. I just hope that I can meet your expectations!
