Aida4Ken in Action

The best way to understand something is to see a real life example. Here is one taken from ron2.

The player has a ニ四五七 shape. It’s not a comfortable shape so the player starts by throwing the ニ and later throws the 七 . If we refer back to our Aida4Ken chart, we can see this would make the 三 & 六 more dangerous. Basically the ura suji is the same for both the ニ and 七, making it a more valuable read for information.

However, and to reiterate what this means for your reads. It only tells you what may be dangerous. Not what is safe. It only gives you an idea what may be going on in an opponent’s hand and what might be comparatively more dangerous.

This was the hand when it ended… (If you wonder if that is a matagi suji read on the 四, beware because it may in fact be a safe tile play.)

Good luck! It’s tough out there over the tiles…
